The EPS is run by a Council consisting of nine members who are representative of a broad spectrum of evangelical Protestantism in Northern Ireland. The Council meets regularly to discuss the affairs of the Society and to consider how best the work might be advanced

PRESIDENT: Rev Dr William J Malcolmson 



Rev William J Malcolmson is minister of the Congregational Reformed Church in east Belfast and is also active in the Orange and Black Institution and the Boys Brigade. A nifty soccer player in his day, Bill is an ardent fan of Linfield FC! He is also a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
 

CHAIRMAN: Mr Vincent Shortt   



Vincent Shortt has a long-standing association with the EPS and is, in many ways, the Society's historian.  Vincent is an elder in West Kirk Presbyterian Church in north Belfast and is an active member of the Orange and Black Institution and the Apprentice Boys of Derry. Vincent is also a devoted father and grandfather.

SECRETARY: Mr Wallace Thompson 

Wallace Thompson works for the Democratic Unionist Party in the NI Assembly. He was a special adviser to a DUP Minister from May 2007 - July 2009. Previously, he was a civil servant for 28 years. He also works on a part-time basis for the EPS, and has served as secretary of the EPS and editor of the Ulster Bulwark since 2000.  He is Clerk of Session in Knock Evangelical Presbyterian Church in east Belfast and preaches regularly across the Province and beyond.  Wallace lives near Stormont and is married with three grown up children. He is a member of the Independent Orange Institution, the Apprentice Boys of Derry and the Caleb Foundation.

OTHER COUNCIL MEMBERS:

Rev Stephen Dickinson is minister of Glenarm and Cairnalbana Presbyterian churches in the picturesque Glens of Antrim. Stephen is totally committed to the evangelical Protestant cause in the Irish Presbyterian church, and has spoken out courageously on several occasions. Married with four children, he is also Deputy Grand Master of the Orange Order. Stephen has served on the Council of EPS since 2001. 

Rev Dr Eric Culbertson also joined the EPS Council in 2001. He is minister of Tullanisken and Clonoe parish churches near Newmills in Co Tyrone, and is a staunch defender of evangelical Protestantism within the Church of Ireland. He is also actively involved in the Orange and Black Institutions. Eric is married with two children.

Mr David McConaghie has been a member of the EPS Council since 1999. Recently licensed to the ministry of the Free Presbyterian Church, David served as the evangelical representative on the NI Civic Forum. He is a member of the Independent Orange Institution.

Mr Jack Greenald became Council member in November 2008.  Jack is originally from Manchester but now lives in Newtownards, Co Down, and is married with a young child.  He is involved with Newtowtownards Baptist Church and is active member of the Orange Order, ans is the author of a number of historical booklets and articles.  

Mr Ian Loughrin also joined the Council in November 2008.  He lives near Cookstown, Co Tyrone, and is a member of Calvary Free Presbyterian Church, Magherafelt, where he is involved in youth work.  Ian is also a committed Orangeman, with a vision for evangelistic outreach among the members of the Loyal Orders.

Mrs Vi Dawson joined the Council in May 2009. She is the wife of our late brother, George Dawson, who served on the Council with such commitment from 2001 until his untimely passing in May 2007. Vi lives in Ballymena and is the mother of two girls. She is a primary school teacher and is actively involved in Randalstown Free Presbyterian Church. Vi will bring to the EPS some very valuable experience and skills in the media and in publishing. And, as the first female member of the EPS Council, she will also undoubtedly bring some much needed common sense!
